Lace up those running shoes Victoria, the TC10K is celebrating its 35th annual race with a blast from the past!

With organizers planning a “‘90s comeback” for 2024, participants are encouraged to dust off their brightest neon gear and get ready for a throwback to a time when punk and hip-hop tracks were played on repeat, vintage jackets were fly and pop culture icons ruled the world.

With an estimated 10,000 participants expected at the starting line on April 28th, the TC10K has become one of Victoria’s largest long standing community events.

“Runsport Victoria Society own and operate the TC10K, and their goal is to make the Capital region the walking and running capital of Canada,” says TC10K Event Producer, Mark deFrias,.

Each year, the philosophy behind this marquee community event is to encourage a healthier future for Victorians through physical activity. “This is really all about improving the health and wellness of our community and creating a stronger and more resilient community through being active,” says deFrias.

Early-bird registration open now

From now until Jan. 31, early-bird tickets are being sold online where you can register as an individual or as a team.

The online registration deadline for individuals is April 27 at 2 pm. If you miss the online registration deadline, have no fear! You can still register in-person during the Race Kit pickup on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 from 2 to 6 p.m.

For those running with a group, the Brown Bros. Team Challenge is the perfect opportunity for friends, family and co-workers to come together with a common goal – those with 10 or more members are also able to create their own personalized logos! The team registration deadline is 11 a.m. on April 2.

Racers can look forward to real-time race information and neon swag that includes an exclusive TC10K finisher medal, racing shirt, race bib with a timing tag. Healthy, delicious post-race snacks will be provided by Thrifty Foods and can be found at the family fun zone outside the B.C. Legislature building.

Virtual opportunities

For those that are unable to make it to the event, this year the TC10K will also feature a virtual run where you can run at your own pace, in your own place.

Training dates beginning in January

In the months leading up to this electric race, those looking to put in the work and improve their cardio after the hectic holidays can register for a 14-week training clinic hosted by the TC10K which is starting in January.

Guided by Head Coach and Clinics Manager, Mariah Kelly, this is a great way to make sure you not only toe that start line but soar through the finish with some extra pop in your step.
