Competition Title: Community Support Worker Competition No: 2019-01-05 Posting Date: January 10, 2019 Position Status: Temporary Full Time, until the return of the incumbent Grid Level: Grid 10 Initial assignment: Thorpe House Rotation & Schedule: 40 hours, 5 days a week, Sunday to Monday, 7:00am to 3:00pm and Tuesday, to Thursday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm Restrictions & Requirements: This position requires BCGEU membership. This position is open to Female and Male applicants Required Qualifications: 1st Aid certificate applicable to Community Living Driver's License & acceptable driver's abstract Acceptable current Criminal Record Check Desired Qualifications: Community Support Worker certificate, or equivalent combination of education & experience (2 years FT equivalent at this grid level). Demonstrated ability to comply with consistent schedule and behavior plan structures. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries in a group home, community settings and with families. Excellent communication skills in all required formats. Demonstrated proficiency with documentation. Strong interest in autism Demonstrated ability to administer medications according the MAR sheet with close attention to detail. Be enthusiastic and promote healthy eating habits. Job Duties The Community Support Workers provide personal care assistance and support to individuals to promote and maximize independence in community, including assistance with activities of daily living and delegated transfer of function tasks, as directed and in accordance with established plans of care.
